The Internet Is in Full Freakout Mode After Spotting Amy Schumer in the Judge Judy Crowd

Back in May, Amy Schumer shared on social media that she’d stopped by the set of Judge Judy, America’s foremost wielder of justice. But it wasn’t until Thursday that the internet realized Schumer would actually appear in an episode of the longstanding courtroom reality show. Yet there she was, spotted front and center behind a participant in the candid snapshots.

Naturally, Twitter is alight with people speculating about Schumer’s unexpected presence in the gallery. The case over which Judge Judy is presiding in the episode appears to be about Yu Gi Oh! cards, and it seems that Schumer was moved from her very visible location after the lunch break. But not before plenty of screenshots — with Schumer’s classic facial expressions — had been snapped for all the world to see.

When she posted about her experience on set in May, the Snatched actor called it a “dream day” that she shared with her sister.

Even Schumer joined the conversation.

‘It’s Insignificant.’ Brigitte Macron Addresses Age Difference With Emmanuel Macron

France’s President’s wife Brigitte Macron spurred conversation when her husband Emmanuel Macron won the French presidency, thanks to their age difference: she’s 24 years his senior.

But now, she’s speaking frankly about the importance of the relationship that has launched her onto the global stage.

“There are times in your life where you need to make vital choices,” she said in a new interview with ELLE France regarding her choice to later pursue the relationship with Macron, after first meeting when he was a student at a school where she taught. “And for me, that was it. So, what has been said over the 20 years, it’s insignificant.”

“Of course, we have breakfast together, me and my wrinkles, him with his youth, but it’s like that,” she said of their age difference. “If I did not make that choice, I would have missed out on my life. I had a lot of happiness with my children and, at the same time, felt I had to live ‘this love’ as Prevert used to say, to by fully happy.” (Prevert was a 20th century French poet and screenwriter.)

As for the age difference, he said “If I was 20 years older than my wife, nobody would think for a single second that we couldn’t be legitimately together,” he told Le Parisien. “It’s because she is 20 years older than me that a lot of people say, ‘this relationship can’t be tenable, it can’t be possible.’”

He has also discussed why Brigitte has been a critical shaping force in his life. “To Brigitte, always present and even more, without whom I wouldn’t be who I am,” he said after winning the election. “She will be next to me because she has always been next to me,” he was later quoted as saying, according to Forbes.

J.K. Rowling Just Pointed Out One Surprising Result of Trump’s Remarks

Count on J.K. Rowling to always inject some wry levity and perspective into political proceedings. On Thursday, the Harry Potter author and prolific Twitter user shared a screen grab of a TV channel broadcast in which the chyron is nothing short of surprising: “Iran and Israel condemn Trump’s comments,” it reads.

“Unbelievable. He actually did bring the Middle East together,” Rowling dryly commented on the image in her tweet.

Iran and Israel have long been enemies, but she joked that Trump may have inadvertently had a successful unifying effect.

For the two nations to agree on something — in this case, Trump’s comments on the violent events in Charlottesville — is noteworthy.

Brokering peace in the Middle East has also been a consistent blocking point for U.S. presidents in the last half-century. Trump’s current Middle East foreign policy approach has included sending his son-in-law Jared Kushner to the region to engage in peace talks.

Taylor Swift to Make Donation to Foundation for Sexual Assault Survivors

After winning her court case against a DJ who allegedly groped her in 2013, Taylor Swift is moving forward on her commitment to support other survivors of sexual assault.

“I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this,” she wrote in a statement released following the ruling. “My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

One of those organizations will be Law and Order: SVU actor and advocate Mariska Hargitay‘s Joyful Heart Foundation, according to the Huffington Post. The foundation’s mission is to “transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, support survivors’ healing, and end this violence forever,” its website states. Swift has been a longtime fan of Hargitay; one of her cats is even named after Hargitay’s character on the show.

“Taylor is aware of the Joyful Heart Foundation and follows our work,” Maile M. Zambuto, CEO of the foundation, told HuffPost. “Her team got in touch with me and we talked a lot about her commitment, all along throughout this ordeal, to wanting to be of service to survivors.”

Their programs focus on healing, advocacy and education, from working to diminish the backlog of untested rape kits to providing safe spaces for women to find holistic therapy after trauma. It’s not yet clear which other organizations Swift plans to support.

Tortoise With Serious Independent Streak Escapes Zoo. She Didn’t Get Far.

Don’t sleep on an ambitious giant tortoise. Abuh, a resident of Japan’s Shibukawa Zoological Park in Okayama Prefecture, is a 35-year-old specimen with a serious independent streak. She made a break for it about two weeks ago, when zoo officials noticed her absence and alerted local residents to keep an eye out for the hard-shelled creature who clocks in at about 120 lbs.

Described as “gentle,” Abuh was allowed to roam freely around the zoo grounds. But that proved a mistake, as she had already meandered her way to freedom a previous time earlier in the month before being brought back into the fold.

For nearly two whole weeks, Abuh managed to escape notice, living her best life beyond the confines of her zoo enclosure. (Giant tortoises like Abuh can live without food and water for several months, too, meaning she wasn’t in any rush to find a new place to call home.)

On Wednesday, however, news outlets reported her time as a free tortoise had come to a close. She was discovered a mere 140 meters — about 459 feet — from the zoo, hidden in some shrubbery.

“We were so relieved that she came back safely as she is so popular among children,” zoo staffer Yoshimi Yaman told news outlets.

As for Abuh? Looks like she’ll have to try a new tactic in her next bid for independence. Slow but steady, right?
