The more than 80 pigs they raise and their pig feed business have made them better off than most households in Qingbao village in Hubei’s mountainous Enshi autonomous prefecture. Even so, they failed to make ends meet last year, earning about 10,000 yuan from their small business but spending more than 20,000 yuan on medical care for Fu’s father and his funeral and caring for their sons, one aged 10 and the other two. <!– google_ad_section_end –>

If there’s one thing Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) likes it’s a good conspiracy, and no conspiracy beats the furriest of them all: Bigfoot. The urban legend that has persisted for many years is the focus of tonight’s Castle, though much like the Bigfoot legend itself, this episode is all about misdirection. The case centers on the brutal death of Ann Cardinal, an evolutionary biologist whose side hobby was tracking down Bigfoot. Unlike those hunting for sport or to win prize money from a local TV monster show, Ann’s interests were deeply rooted in her Native American cultural beliefs that see Bigfoot as a protector, not predator. Her work in that field garnered the attention of a number of potential suspects, including Dr. Darrell Meeks (Raphael Sbarge). It’s good to see Sbarge doing work outside of the Enchanted Forest and he plays the role …Click to continue reading ‘Castle’ Season 5, Episode 20: The Truth Is Out There

Lionsgate is distributing two very different movies over the next few months. First of all, there’s family-themed romantic comedy The Big Wedding, in which Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton play a divorced couple who are forced to fake being married again – so as not to offend their future daughter-in-law’s strict Catholic mother. Then there’s home invasion horror You’re Next, directed by A Horrible Way to Die‘s Adam Wingard, in which a family get-together turns into a bloodbath as a group of people attempt to defend themselves from masked killers with an unexplained grudge against them. It appears that Lionsgate has decided to kill two birds with one stone, literally doubling up their posters for The Big Wedding and You’re Next to create a creepy and rather cool viral campaign. We’re not yet sure how many …Click to continue reading Viral Marketing for ‘You’re Next’ Invades ‘The Big Wedding’ Posters

The lack of promotional material for Oldboy, the long-gestating remake of South Korean maestro Park Chan-wook’s revenge opus, has allowed director Spike Lee to keep the film well under-wraps leading into its fall 2013 release. But as October draws closer, the need for FilmDistrict to release some details about Lee’s vision of Park’s stunning, violent, tragic, deranged masterpiece grows greater and greater. Good news, though: Oldboy‘s first teaser poster has been unveiled for fan appreciation. Additionally, a report from an early test screening has a lot to say about Lee’s direction, the performances of the film’s talented cast, the overall cringe-worthiness of the material, and octopi. Taken on its own merits and with no context provided, the poster is an evocative, suggestive image that should make more sense upon a reading of the synopsis; …Click to continue reading Teaser Poster & Early Reactions for Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’ Remake

Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister has spent thirteen years working alongside Christopher Nolan, so it would make sense for multiple actors from their previous collaborations, on films like Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy, to board Pfister’s directing debut on the sci-fi feature Transcendence; sure enough, last week the news dropped that Morgan Freeman has joined the film’s cast, which is headed by Johnny Depp. We can now report that Cillian Murphy has become the latest strong addition to the Transcendence acting roster, which means the project will mark the fifth occasion he and Pfister have worked together, after Batman Begins, Inception and Murphy’s cameo appearances in The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Transcendence is based on a script by relative newcomer Jack Paglen, and tells the story of …Click to continue reading Cillian Murphy Cast in ‘Dark Knight’ Cinematographer Wally Pfister’s ‘Transcendence’

Despite the mounting excitement for the continuation of the Star Wars saga – set to be kicked off with Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015 – the past few months have been filled with disappointment for fans of Lucasfilm’s animated offerings. Just one month after Star Wars: The Clone Wars was going to be cancelled to make way for a different kind of animated programming, we may now know what that successor will be. Reports of an animated series by the name of Star Wars: Reclamation have surfaced online, telling a tale set fifteen years after the end of Return of the Jedi. Sporting a cast of characters both old and new, the (rumored) series would help set the stage for the themes and plot of Episode VII, which is still two years away. At this …Click to continue reading Rumor: ‘Star Wars: Reclamation’ Animated Series To Act As ‘Episode 7′ Prequel
