<!– google_ad_section_start –> LONDON (AP) — Another record close on the Dow Jones index helped shore up markets Thursday ahead of the release of U.S. jobless claims. The Dow has now risen for nine straight sessions, its longest winning run since 1996. Many stock indexes around the world have risen in the slipstream of the Dow’s advance to multi-year highs, too. Investors will later be monitoring weekly U.S. jobless claims figures to see if the recent labor market improvement continues. The consensus in the markets is that claims remained around the 350,000 mark last week.
