Group probes 10 killings by Jamaica forces

<!– google_ad_section_start –> An independent panel in Jamaica that investigates allegations of abuses by security forces says there have been 10 fatal shootings of civilians in the first 10 days of this year. In a Thursday statement, the Independent Commission of Investigations says it has begun investigations into each of the incidents. It says nine allegedly involve police officers and the eighth allegedly involves a soldier. Last year, 219 people were killed by Jamaican security forces – nine more than in 2011s. All but one of the last year killings allegedly involved police. <!– google_ad_section_end –>
