Symptoms of Anxiety Panic Attack
Author: Sarah Wilson
Nearly all of us have experience anxiety in a mild form at some point or the other in our lives. Nearly everyone is afraid of public speaking; some are afraid of making presentations at work. There are others who might be afraid to drive in city traffic.
This form of mild anxiety is quite normal and is an appropriate reaction in certain situations. In fact, a little amount of anxiety actually helps us perform better if we can harness the energy it represents. As long as a person can give high levels of output even while being anxious, it is considered to be okay.
But sometimes anxiety panic attack symptoms become severe enough that they’re a disorder in themselves. When anxiety is so severe it detracts from our performance, even paralyzes us, it’s become a problem rather than a help.
A point to remember is that when a person suffers from this type of anxiety, his symptoms and reactions are not warranted by the situation. Even a person realizes that his symptoms are way off the chart; and without relevant training, the person and all others like him cannot do anything to conquer the fear. The feeling of being completely defenseless that comes during an anxiety attack is the worst part.
Anxiety panic attack symptoms also tend to manifest themselves physically. During the attack, the body’s reacts in a manner as though it is under physical threat. The body reacts by releasing adrenaline in the bloodstream, which increases the heart beat, causes fast and shallow breathing, constricts the pupils and causes many other physical reactions in the body. Some people can also get headaches, become restless, get agitated or feel numb.
These are some of the anxiety panic attack symptoms. Often the symptoms are similar to the ones that a person experiences during a heart attack. Therefore, if any of the symptoms of anxiety are present, it is necessary that person is checked by a medical professional.
