<!– google_ad_section_start –> Seven people remain trapped after a 100-metre section of an expressway tunnel collapsed near Tokyo early Sunday morning, according to Japanese media reports. The incident occurred at about 08.00 local time (07.00 HKT), in the Sasago tunnel along the Yamanashi Prefecture’s Chuo Expressway, just 80 kilometres west of the Japanese capital. An unknown number of vehicles in the tunnel were set ablaze and black smoke was seen billowing out, reports said. “We don’t know exactly how many vehicles are on fire,” a traffic police official told the AFP news agency by telephone. <!– google_ad_section_end –>
