When Carey Carter of the Carter Barnes salon in Atlanta, Georgia, got a call from a longtime client who could no longer afford to get her hair done because she’d lost his job, he decided to set aside a day of free coloring and styling for all, CNN reports . Word spread, the salon was flooded with heart-wrenching stories, and stylists ultimately chose 250 of the submissions for a day of pampering. Goody bags and photographs to document the new and improved looks followed the complimentary cuts and coloring services
