Back in olden times, the speeches at the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony used to decry wars in Afghanistan. I’m guessing that won’t be happening this December 10th in Oslo. Nobel Peace Prize presentation speech by Norwegian Nobel Committee, awarder of the prize, to Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, 1980: The war in Afghanistan, more than anything else, has cast its dark shadow on men and women in the part of the world to which we Norwegians belong.
