Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Talks for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

It was a wish of many Batman fanatics, and now it looks to be coming true. Ever since Joseph Gordon-Levitt did wonders for Christopher Nolan’s Inception, fans have been itching to see the actor cast in Nolan’s third and final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. For awhile there were rumors that Gordon-Levitt would play The Riddler, but folks began to come to terms with that not happening once Tom Hardy was cast as Bane and Anne Hathway was brought on to play Catwoman. Surely there wasn’t room for a third villain, right? Well we don’t quite know what to make of this latest news, as Deadline confirms that Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join the next Batman film in an unspecified role. Obviously folks are immediately thinking he’s The Riddler, but that may be… Read More Read Comments

2011 People’s Choice Awards Winners

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

As long as Summit continues to make Twilight movies, we should expect said movies to dominate the People’s Choice Awards. This year’s ceremony – which aired on CBS last night and featured most of Hollywood’s biggest fan favorites – could’ve been called from outset, with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse taking home two major awards, while Kristen Stewart wrangled up one of her own. Would Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner go home with empty pockets? And what about Captain Jack himself, Johnny Depp? First off, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won Favorite Movie Drama, as well as Favorite Movie. Kristen Stewart added a Favorite Movie Actress to that pile, though Pattinson and Lautner came up empty when Johnny Depp swiped the Favorite Movie Actor all for himself. Other awards went to the… Read More Read Comments

Fun Finds: Christian Bale Sings Powerpuff Girls and 2010: The Cinescape

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

While promoting The Fighter, ABC sat down with Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg for an interesting little conversation that somehow ended with Bale singing the Powerpuff Girls theme song and Wahlberg recreating his “You’ve Got the Touch” moment from Boogie Nights. Fans of Bale will remember that early on his career he starred in the movie-musical Newsies, and though the actor has since swore off ever starring in another musical, at least he still takes the time to entertain those of us who’d love to see him belt out a tune … or several. Watch the clip below …

James Franco and Anne Hathaway to Host Academy Awards

Monday, November 29th, 2010

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to return to the two-host format for next year’s Academy Awards (which will reward the films from this year even though it’s technically airing on television next year) by announcing that James Franco and Anne Hathaway will lead the next Oscar ceremony, due to hit ABC on February 27th, 2011. Obviously this pairing was meant to appeal to a younger audience, but it’s also a strange move for the Academy considering both Franco and Hathaway could wind up as Oscar nominees themselves. Franco is certainly one of the frontrunners for Best Actor after his fantastic performance in 127 Hours, while Hathaway has been earning raves for her turn in the newly-released romantic dramedy Love and Other Drugs. If both end up nominated, wouldn’t… Read More Read Comments
