Affordable, limited-edition, artist-designed accessories for everyday use Known for its collaborations with artists both emerging and on the radar, Poketo ‘s latest partnership falls outside the circle of fine art with a 52-piece collection of bags, umbrellas and more designed especially for Target . Already landing in select stores, the entire range hits shops 10 August 2010, where it will remain for three months. Of the 200 artists they’ve worked with previously, Poketo selected 21 to help design the mix-and-match collection of assorted essentials. In addition to the charming motifs, the range is also well designed, with conveniently placed zippers, useful pockets and handy key rings or straps. “We were given complete creative control and freedom, from the overall look and feel of the line to down to the minute yet important details that make each item so special and unique,” said Poketo founder Angie Myung. “You’ll see a lot of interesting and subtle details like embroidered stitching and functional things like our shopping tote that folds and zips in itself.” Prices span $5 to $30, and soon a full microsite and lookbook will showcase the entire range alongside a calendar of events to celebrate its launch.
