No Super Bowl commercial received as much pre-game hype as Tim Tebow’s ad that promised to “Celebrate Life” for Focus on the Family, a conservative Christian group. Women’s groups protested the decision to air the ad, while a prominent lawyer insinuated that the commercial may be based on a falsehood . Jim Daly, Focus on the Family’s president and CEO, was “excited to tell people it’s coming because the Tebows’ story is such an important one for our culture to hear.” He promised that “you won’t want to miss it.” As it turns out, a lot of people missed it

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s bipartisan jobs bill includes a tax break for companies that hire unemployed workers, money for highway construction, relief for private pensions and a one-year extension of the Patriot Act used to combat terrorism. The bill brought forth for consideration Thursday would also extend unemployment payments for those whose benefits have run out as well as subsidies to help the jobless continue paying premiums for health insurance. While the centerpiece of the measure is a $13 billion payroll tax credit for companies that hire unemployed workers, the bulk of it addresses leftover business the Senate couldn’t get to last year when it was preoccupied by the health care debate.

The New York Times began its latest round of layoffs Wednesday, as too few employees accepted voluntary buyouts. The New York Post’s Keith Kelly reported Wednesday morning that 26 staffers would be laid off, since only 74 employees accepted buyout offers and the target was to cut 100 positions.

The choice of beats is so important when you begin to compose your music. A great beat could easily transform your career from an amateur to that of a professional, when you have mastered how to make beats online. It really is as simple as that. Successful artists are often given their big break by creating their first memorable beats.
Once you have decided on the style of music that you want to produce, you must select the beats that both compliment and strengthen it. If the final product is to be a great piece of music, the various instruments and beats must work with one another as well as the overall composition. With music, the final piece needs to be much more than just the sum of the various instruments and beats used to create it. Thankfully, there are many excellent resources on the internet that can help you create great music.
You may have your favourite artists that you want to try and copy, but it is important that you give some thought to developing your own personal style. Often an artist will be inspired by previous works or standards, but the successful performers rise above the average by developing their own unique style. You are then in the position where you can decide on which instruments and beats to work with which best express your style, rather than let them dictate the type of music that you produce. In this way you are in control of the creative process.
No-one becomes proficient or successful overnight and constant work and refinement are essential to improvement. You should always remain a student and learn from your experiences and from the resources available to you. This is the key to becoming a great musician and beatmaker. Eventually, when you have developed your style, you will be in a position to create your first demo CD.
There are some great online resources and software tools that can help you get started in creating your music, without the need to invest in expensive hardware, software and sequencers. It is well worth you exploring some of these, as they provide a great way for you to start making music online and often come with video tuition to support your development. Once you have learnt the basics, you can then decide on what additional tools and equipment you may need to take your music to the next level.
