Dissidents beat Beijing security cordon to meet wife of Liu Xiaobo

<!– google_ad_section_start –> Dramatic video footage emerged yesterday of several dissidents breaking through a security cordon to reach the wife of jailed Nobel laureate Liu Xiaobo, who is herself under house arrest. The four-minute video, posted on YouTube, is shot in the apartment building in Beijing where Liu Xia is being held and represents a daring affront to the authorities. It also illustrates the level of fear under which she lives, according to activists who say her detention is illegal. <!– google_ad_section_end –>

The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about what was found in bin Laden’s hideout. Read full article > >

Daniel Patrick Moynihan. — the couple combined adjoining apartments into one, creating a 2,210-square-foot urban aerie boasting high-end design flourishes and jaw-dropping views.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to Star in ’21 Jump Street’ Movie

Children of the ’80s will sigh and roll their eyes when they hear about the upcoming 21 Jump Street movie, but I kinda think it has a shot to be real funny. The original television show – which helped launch Johnny Depp’s career — played it much straighter than this upcoming big-screen version will, and so knowing that they’ll be concentrating more on the humor than the dramatic hardships of being an undercover cop in a high school makes it a project you definitely have to keep an eye out for. We’ve known for a while that Jonah Hill was leading the way on this one, writing the script, producing and starring in what we imagine will be the Johnny Depp role as an undercover detective sent in to a high school to infiltrate youth crimes. (Hill has also noted that they’ve written a… Read More Read Comments
