DURHAM, N.H. — The libertarian prophet of American decline arrived at the Granite State auditorium Friday evening with no fanfare and few bodyguards. “Dr. Paul?” said a man near the door, who in the past three years had gone from believing in Barack Obama to believing that the country is sliding toward total economic and social collapse. SantaCon, the event where folks dressed as Santa Claus go on a holiday bar crawl, is a love-it-or-hate-it holiday tradition, with observers strongly divided between “naughty” and “nice.” Read full article > >

Gene Simmons, Shannon Tweed and reality-TV weddings: When is it staged and when is it love?

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed tied the knot Saturday after almost three decades together, in a ceremony that — like their engagement — was filmed for their A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” which returns to the airwaves tonight. D.C. schools get a fresh start, thanks to volunteers

Saturday, August 20th, 2011

With the first day of school two days away, D.C. public school officials on Saturday made a final push to spruce up 105 campuses with the help of more than 4,100 volunteers.
