Postal workers mark 10-year anniversary of anthrax attacks

Ten years ago Saturday, the country’s deadly outbreak of bioterrorism had shuttered Washington’s main mail-sorting center in Northeast Washington. Its 2,000 workers were scattered in chaos and fear. And two men in their extended family were dead from inhaling anthrax-laced letters . On Friday, Joseph P. Curseen Jr. and Thomas L. Morris Jr. were remembered by postal workers and officials with prayer vigils and memorials. Their deaths are a reminder of the slow horror and mystery of the anthrax attacks as they unfolded from the elite world of Capitol Hill to the Brentwood facility, where workers had been assured by health officials that they were safe. Like many expectant mothers these days, Autumn Yates posted updates about her pregnancy on Facebook. “It’s nice for my extended family to see pictures from time to time of me getting bigger and little comments like, ‘34-week check-up went well!’ ” said Yates, 29, a Spanish teacher from Oakton. “I don’t see anything wrong with that. New Head-to-Toe Green Lantern Images You’ve seen the extended trailer for Green Lantern that was born out of WonderCon, and now Warner Bros. has released some new Green Lantern promo images that show us Ryan Reynolds in the full Green Lantern suit. One of the more talked-about facts about this suit is that it’s been created with computers and is not a practical suit that Reynolds wore during production. While the reasoning behind it makes sense (it’s an alien suit that takes over his body, and should look as such), word is still out on how hardcore fans will react once they see the completed movie. It’s fairly safe to assume we’re in a “So far, so good” zone in terms of Green Lantern, and I can’t be the only one anticipating its June 17th release date.
