As the year unfolded, however, the Washington Redskins ignored those instructions, restructuring deals that violated the spirit — if not the letter — of the NFL’s wishes. Read full article > >

Late Wednesday, GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann reportedly received the apology she thought NBC owed her after late-night house band the Roots performed the tune “Lyin’ A– B—-” to introduce her on Monday’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” show. A Bachmann spokeswoman told the Associated Press late Wednesday that an NBC programming executive sent a personal letter to the Minnesota congresswoman. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels’s pre-campaign effort was odd from the get-go. He antagonized key blocs of the Republican Party, evidenced a tin ear and seemed to take no counsel from anyone. Now he’s out , citing family concerns. Donald Trump never intended to run, and his exit was no surprise. But to Daniels’s supporters this “tease” may leave a bad taste in their mouths (as Daniels conceded in his letter to supporters). In any event, his departure confirms that he is, bluntly speaking, an odd duck. Read full article > >

When Hallie Leighton received the letter from her doctor with the results of her recent mammogram, she opened it tentatively, afraid of what it might say. Her mother and grandmother had both had breast cancer, and she didn’t want to suffer the same fate.
