Mubarak to seek Egyptians’ forgiveness

CAIRO — Facing mounting pressure from criminal investigators, ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak is expected to ask for his compatriots’ forgiveness in a televised speech Tuesday, according to local news reports. Mubarak, 82, has been in custody in a hospital in the Sinai resort town of Sharm el-Sheik since prosecutors ordered his detention on corruption charges April 13.
