Peyton Manning sweepstakes may end without a public drawing

Monday, March 12th, 2012

The good news about the Peyton Manning sweepstakes is that it appears it will end soon. Manning has done his part, having the courtesy to put some of his suitors out of their respective miseries without virtue of long, drawn-out song and dance numbers. (Think Mike Shanahan belting out “The Learjet with the Fringe on Top.”) Read full article > >

Peyton Manning has many suitors, but don’t count out the Redskins

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

The smart-aleck money says the Washington Redskins are the ugliest of Peyton Manning’s 12-and-counting suitors , and they can’t compete with the warm allures of Miami or Arizona. But I’m not so sure. Mike Shanahan has the best relationship with Manning of any coach vying for him, and there is nothing in Manning’s career that suggests ease is what he’s really after. Thursday, February 9th, 2012

The moment has arrived for the Redskins to finally get serious about their starting quarterback. And that means avoiding the temptation of pursuing Peyton Manning . The Redskins need a foundation for their future. No more chasing fading stars. Draft and develop someone capable of becoming a young one. Signing Manning, who turns 36 in March, missed last season because of a serious neck injury and might never fully regain his arm strength, doesn’t fit that plan. Read full article > >

Peyton Manning: Washington Redskins should get him as soon as he’s available

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Do it. Get him. Whatever must be done, however much the Redskins have to pay or promise to bring Peyton Manning to Washington, they should offer it. This is one instance in which Dan Snyder needs to be the Dan Snyder we used to know, the check-writer with a signature on the bottom flashier than a fountain. Read full article > >
