When Google’s “Doodle” to mark the late Martha Graham’s birthday took viral centerstage today, the beguilingly lined short animation reminded many viewers of the creative potential for the search engine’s big-billboard logo. “This is my first Google Doodle! I’m not sure how many animators or designers they have on staff at Google, but the team I worked with was great,” said the Martha Graham animator, Ryan Woodward , in his Post live online chat this afternoon. That quote got us to thinking about not only our favorite Google Doodle logos in recent years — from Scooby-Doo to Will Eisner (and here’s a Post sample gallery of them )— but also, particularly, our favorite Google animations.
