Cornel West will not face charges after Sunday’s protest arrest

Cornel West won’t face charges for his role and arrest in Sunday’s “ October 2011/Stop the Machine ” demonstrations on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, CBS News reported . West was one of 19 people arrested Sunday afternoon after ignoring requests and demonstrating with signs, which is prohibited, on the grounds of the court. The demonstrators appeared in court Monday but prosecutors agreed not to press charges. Earlier in the day, West attended the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication ceremony.
