And now the results of my most recent cartoon caption contest . Another avalanche of entries. There were so many candidate body-parts to choose from! There were an eye-popping number of “eye of Newt” suggestions, and many variants on “brain” themes, but the winner managed to add the creative spark of Romney’s brain flip-flopping around in the box, which made his entry come alive, if you follow my metaphor. A funny image, for sure. So congratulations to commenter maggots, and we’ll be sending him the signed original of the cartoon! Juba, Sudan – An alarming wave of violence has racked Southern Sudan in the two weeks since its upcoming independence was announced, raising worries about the long-term prospects for the world’s soon-to-be newest country.
