Your Digital Intuition: Sift Through the Twitter Chatter With My6Sense

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Q:   I follow so many people on Twitter that I can’t keep track of all of the incoming tweets. Is there a way to highlight important or interesting messages? A : For those looking to curate their Twitter experience, my6sense, a stream reader that learns your preferences, can help prioritize your incoming tweets. Until recently, this application was only available for smartphones, but on Wednesday my6sense rolled out a Google Chrome browser extension. (Sorry, Firefox and Internet Explorer devotees. For the time being, anyway.) After installing the add-on from My6Sense , the application will automatically add an extra tab to your Twitter feed — if you’re still accessing your feed via Twitter.com, that is – showing what My6Sense has deemed your top tweets. Upon installation, the add-on has already decided which tweets have more relevance. At first it may seem off and dated, but as you click certain links and interact with certain users, My6Sense will get better at guessing what you like — similar to Gmail’s Priority Inbox. Eventually the most relevant tweets will rise to the top of your timeline, helping you sift through the chatter. Tools mentioned in this entry: MY6SENSE More questions?
