If President Obama wins a second term, he will finally endorse same-sex marriage. Gay-rights groups are almost certain. He will also make a new, historic effort to fight climate change — environmentalists are pretty sure. Read full article > >

The Republican presidential campaign is breathing new life into the Founding Fathers. In recent months, Republican candidates have invoked these original American statesmen to provide powerful political precedents on issues as diverse as the “Me Generation,” inequality, the legalization of marijuana, the policies of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, foreign military intervention, same-sex marriage and religion in public life. And although in real life they often bitterly disagreed with one another, the newly imagined Founding Fathers have reached a surprising degree of harmony in the minds of the GOP presidential candidates on these contemporary matters — many of which were unimaginable in an era of horse-drawn carriages, kerosene lamps and powdered wigs. Friday, February 17, 2012 was a VERY GOOD day for Human Rights for all in my beloved state of Maryland! Thanks to Governor O’Malley, Democrats and even some Republicans and with the ardent support of Equality Maryland — Maryland is poised to become the 8th state to grant marriage equality.
And SHAME on my District 19, Delegate SAM ARORA who co-sponsored last year’s legislation, ran on a progressive platform that included marriage equality and is either a LIAR or a COWARD, or both and voted against the measure yesterday.
I wonder what Sam Arora will be doing come January 2013 –
I know he will no longer be our delegate!
Sam Arora has now joined the likes of NJ Gov. Chris Christie in supporting a “referendum” so voters can decide. You know just like we let Lester Maddox do in Georgia so that African-Americans could be treated equally, right? Or remember back in 1920 when there were referendums so men could vote for a women’s right to cast a ballot too?
Referendums are the last bastion of the cowards — Californians are learning the hard and expensive way. The Mormon Church may have invested 20 million buckeroos to lie and propagandize their way to overturning marriage equality but as the 9th Circuit Court just ruled – it’s still UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
I will be doing everything within my power to defeat phony liberals like Sam Arora!

A federal appeals panel in San Francisco ruled Tuesday that California’s ban on same-sex marriage violates the constitutional right to equal protection. The panel overturned Proposition 8, which was approved by 52 percent of the state’s voters in 2008 and amended the state’s constitution to limit marriage to a man and a woman. Read full article > >

Rick Santorum has just come out of a campaign event at Cornell College, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where the GOP presidential contender says he received the “typical college-crowd” questions challenging his opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage. But when he was their age, he felt differently about those issues, too. Read full article > >
