Hours after country singer Hank Williams Jr. went on a morning talk show and likened President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler, ESPN announced it had dropped the singer as the opening of this week’s “Monday Night Football.” “While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize he is closely linked to our company through the opening to ‘Monday Night Football,’” the Disney-owned sports cable network said Monday afternoon its statement. Huguette M. Clark, the reclusive heiress who died last month in New York, has left a painting from Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies” series to the Corcoran Gallery of Art. The bequest was revealed in a will that her attorneys filed Wednesday in New York. Clark , 104, had an extensive art collection in her 42-room apartment on Fifth Avenue. The art, including works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir and John Singer Sargent, is being transferred to the Bellosguardo Foundation, which is named after her 24-acre estate in Santa Barbara, Calif. Glen Campbell is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, the singer revealed to People . Campbell’s wife Kim said they have gone public with the diagnosis ahead of the country legend’s farewell tour set for this fall. “Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer,” she told the magazine. “But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn’t want people to think, ‘What’s the matter with him? Is he drunk?’ ” That could be a real concern for the country legend, who was sentenced to 10 days in jail for extreme drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident in 2004.
