Police: D.C. officer shot by teen
Saturday, May 21st, 2011Washington police say an officer is in stable condition after being shot multiple times by a teenager who was also wounded. Metropolitan Police say the shootout occurred about 5:10 a.m. Saturday when officers responded to a report of an armed male. Police say the officers encountered an armed suspect on the porch of a home in the 700 block of Crittenden Street, NE, and gunfire was exchanged after he refused to drop the weapon. Police say the wounded 15-year-old fled and was later found hiding under a nearby porch. Police did not identify either the wounded officer or the teenager, who was shot in the arm.
