BAGHDAD – A suicide bomber detonated a car full of explosives near a funeral procession here Friday morning, killing at least 31 people and injuring at least 60, a security official said. Mourners had gathered outside a hospital to receive the bodies of three people killed the night before, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly. Helicopter crashes in East River, one reported dead

This post has been updated. A helicopter with five people aboard crashed into the East River near 34th Street Tuesday afternoon, sinking to the bottom of the river within minutes. It was taking off from the East 34th Street Heliport when it crashed. The pilot and three people have been pulled out of the water by rescuers, and two people have been taken to the hospital in serious condition.
