D.C. police investigate shooting death of man, 24, in Northeast

D.C. police are investigating a slaying that occurred Saturday in the Carver Terrace neighborhood. Police were called to the 1100 block of 21st Street NE about 1:45 p.m. to investigate reports that shots had been fired. Officers from the 5th District found Isaiah Sheffield, 24, of Northeast suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
