We told you Superman casting stories would begin to heat up the internet, and now we’re back with a couple of guys who are rumored to be in the running for a major role in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel movie. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Viggo Mortensen is high on the list of actors they want to play the villainous General Zod in the 2012 film. Zod, played by Terence Stamp in Superman 2, was rumored to be the villain for awhile until Snyder squashed the talk early on (probably for fear of letting the cat out of the bag so quickly). Who’d You Rather: Viggo Mortensen or Daniel Day-Lewis as Superman Villain?

Yesterday we asked you which rumored role you’d rather see Kristen Stewart take on once she’s done moonlighting with vampires and werewolves in The Twilight Saga. It was between the role of Snow White in a new live-action re-telling of the popular fairytale Snow White and the Huntsman, and the role of Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s new Superman movie. According to our poll, 42% of you wanted to see her as Snow White, which was the highest percentage of the bunch (though 40% of you want to see her in neither film). For those 42% we have good news: At some point between now and that post, it was announced that K-Stew is now in negotiations to play Snow White opposite Viggo Mortensen, who will take on the part of the huntsman.

The latest from the rumor mill is that Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart could be the next Snow White for Rupert Sanders’ retelling of the classic fairy tale. Wait… what? She’s definitely fair, but is she the fairest one of all these belles? Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander, and Emily Browning — all of whom are rumored for the titular role — were reportedly screen tested last week. Snow White and the Huntsman, slated for a 2012 release, sounds like it’ll take the damsel-in-distress story and inject a good dose of spunk.
